Wimbledon, England, United Kingdom (4E Sports) - World No. 144 and wild card Nick Kyrgios pulled off the biggest surprise at Wimbledon, shocking world No. 1 Rafael Nadal, 7-6(5), 5-7, 7-6(5), 6-3, Tuesday to reach the quarterfinals.

"I think I was in a bit of a zone out there," said Kyrgios, who notched the win after two hours and 58 minutes. "It hasn't sunk in what just played out out there. I played extraordinary tennis".

The 19-year-old Kyrgios goes on to face Canadian Milos Raonic, who reached the last eight after beating Kei Nishikori, 4-6, 6-1, 7-6(4), 6-3. The pair met five weeks ago in the Roland Garros first round, with Raonic advancing in straight sets.

Kyrgios is the first player outside the Top 100 to beat the World No. 1 since Andrei Olhovsky defeated Jim Courier in the 1996 Roland Garros first round. He is the first teenager to defeat a World No. 1 since Nadal beat Roger Federer in the 2005 Roland Garros semifinals.

Meanwhile, Roger Federer advanced to his 12th Wimbledon quarterfinal with a 6-1, 6-4, 6-4 win over Tommy Robredo in just 93 minutes.

The 32-year-old Federer goes on to face Stan Wawrinka in an all-Swiss quarterfinal. Wawrinka ended Feliciano Lopez' winning run with a 7-6(5), 7-6(7), 6-3 victory in just under two hours.

On the women's side, Angelique Kerber stunned former champion and fifth seed Maria Sharapova, 7-6 (7-4), 4-6, 6-4, to reach the quarterfinal.

The 26-year-old Kerber will now appear in a third major quarterfinal. She was a Wimbledon semifinalist two years ago.

Simona Halep also advanced after beating Zarina Diyas... MORE
